Smart Car in High Speed Pursuit on the 210 FWY at 9-9:15 pm, starting around San Fernando. Coverage was on Channel 9. They called off the pursuit, because they said they have the license plate. Speeds from 90-100 mph, but I don't believe that.
It was a Blue and grey Smart car.
Any more info?
If it's not stolen, then the driver is STUPID, to put it nicely !!!
the crazy esp would try to correct it and you'd be on your merry way... it would make the cops look like fools LOL
be smart and drive it down the footpath, sidewalk i think you call it there, that would be funny... the police cruiser (lol) wouldnt fit and it's bye bye cops
Police have his drivers license and the vehicle license number. He took off after surrendering his license to authorities?? I'll have to agree with, stupid!!
LOS ANGELES
With speeds often reaching 90 mph, police chased a suspect Monday evening in a Smart car through the San Fernando Valley towards Pasadena.
CHP officers, about half hour into the chase, decided to pull back in an effort to get the driver to slow down, according to authorities.
They abandoned the chase altogether when they determined who the driver was and where he lived, said officials.
At that point, the chase was well onto the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway approaching Sylmar.
The super-small and very fast (who knew?)Smart car was pursued initially on the northbound Hollywood (170) Freeway.
The CHP pulled over the driver for speeding.
After giving the officer his license and registration, the driver took off -- turning a traffice infraction into a felony by fleeing from authorities.
Not Stolen, Just not a Smart smart driver. This might boost the impresion of smarts just like Al Gore III, 24, Pulled Over Driving 100 MPH in a Prius With Marijuana and Prescription Drugs in Car, Say Police
Boosted the perception of the Prius
But we know he was still getting about 27 MPG durring that chase. Top that Prius.
