I called Smart last night about my vanishing DDE (that was solved). I happened to asked for my reservation number which I thought would help me figure out how many people are ahead of me. I asked the agent about how the order the cars are distributed and they told me that they are filled on first come first serve basis and not by dealer. I specifically mentioned that from what I understood from our forum that it was understood it was in order of the queue of your assigned dealer. I was really surprised because this contradicts what I have read on here and wondered if anyone else heard anything like this issue.

May not be dead put certainly terminal. What Does My Reservation Number Mean?

Your reservation is in order of time received; however, that's entirely separate from when you will get your car, which depends on zip code, number of dealers in the area, the configuration of your car, phase of the moon and what's in the latest Farmer's Almanac.

and how bad you want it. The sooner you want it, the longer it will take.
