No,I am saying that I get about 49-50 on average, while my wife who drives it the bulk of the time gets 46-49. I have gotten as high as 53, and she has managed to get as low as 46. Our first few tanks were in the 35-39 range. The higher are our most recent results
We both do mostly highway driving about 23 miles one way to work, only about 3 of those 23 miles are in town miles. Rarely do we see another car on the road until we get to town. Our car has 6000 miles on it now, the milage did increase at about 2k, not because of the CAR break in, the transmisson "learning" thing I keep reading about etc. I think if everyone was honest they would agree it is because after about 2k YOU have made it through the learning curve with this car and its quirky transmission, YOU have passed the "seeing what it would do" stage, YOU have altered your habits.
Our drive looks something like this from home to work: Basically flat, 4 miles then stop turn left, 11 miles slow turn right, 5 miles stop, 3 miles through town that includes 2 stop signs and 2 stop lights.
Wife drives a little faster, uses a little more ac, coasts a lot less, takes off a little faster, shifts manually more than I.
My keys are this: Tire pressure at the max, coast 0.5 miles to those stops, drive with a very light foot on acceleration, drive in auto, dont use ac if not Africa hot, keep it at 55, take routes that cause you to stop less due to lights, signs, traffic etc.
