"Will that help you honey?" ummm no Dear it won't.....

I will have to try again at a later date.

Question: if a man is alone in the woods and his wife can't hear him, is he still wrong?
Loks like I got it wrong: the car went 214.1 miles on either 6.2 or 6.8 gallons. If this is correct then the mileage was significantly improved by using Shell gasoline. Remember, we consistantly got 28 to almost 30 mpg on Valero, the local cheap fuel. Now it seems, based upon only 1 tank, that we are getting either 31.5 or 34 mpg.

I will of course re-do the test with more accurate numbers and I also plan to try another tank of the cheap stuff to see if the mileage drops again. I am going to be in LA for a few weeks so I will try this on our smart there too.

Funny how the whole car looks better once the mileage gets up into the 30's.......

Somthing wrong with my cabrio

The book tells me I should be getting 31 MPG in the city. I have been averageing 34 - 39. I have less than 2500 miles on the car. Do you think I should have it checked?

I did not observe a break-in period. The second day I had the car I took a 300 mile trip and I PUSHED THE He** out of it at 80 and 85 miles per hour. I weigh just over 200 pounds and a friend traveling with me weighed over 300. I only got 32 MPG on that trip. I am planning a 600 mile trip during Thanksgiving and I plan to drive conserevatively and it will be mostly Interstate. I'm hoping to get 45 MPH on that trip.

My car was recently in a carshow (special interest, display only). A gentleman (thinking it was an electric car) asked, "How far will that thing go?" I told him I could go coast to coast but I had to stop at the ocean ... it will not float!

How do you know it won't float? Prove it.

I consistently get over 40 mpg, usually close to 45mpg. I ALWAYS allow my "HOOP-LA" to warm up to 11-12000 rpms (idle speed) and have since I purchased it. My Hot-Rod husband tends to drag the mpg's down when he has to drive it.
I don't drive in 'stop&go' too awfully much but am up and down moderate hills.

I consistently get 25.6 mpg, but once got 34.6
I don't care, cause I love my smart.
I drive a hilly .07 ROUND trip multiple time per day
I don't walk it cause I don't want to
I love my smart because it gets 25.6 and the 86 Cad Fleetwood got 7.5 to 8.5 mpg
I love my smart fill-up once a month of 6 to almost 7 gallons
I did not love the Cad's 16 to 17 gal a month.
I don't care how low the smart goes, I love it.

I was getting about 250 miles for the tank before it started flashing 1gal warning, this is in LA, with many short trips, mixed traffic. When I started working further say 40 mile round trip I started getting better close to 300 miles before I would get to the 1gal warning. When there is no traffic I'm regularly going 70 or 75, I know I can do better if I go slower.. I just don't like tail riders!
