I'm still a lot cooler than in my former ride-- black car with black leather interior. WHOOO that was a hot one it was...

a pop up sun roof would have helped, checking into that aftermarket solution now, may have to modify a unit, since all I have seen so far use glass panels, and might be too much weight loading on the polycarb roof.

I may be onto a low cost fix....

But the jury is still out. Along with my own test (and not much of a test so far here in Albany) I have 1 gentleman and possibly another, who are forum members, who will be testing the same idea in parallel to my test.

We'll (i'll) post here once we have the results and are comfortable with the repeatability and effectiveness of the tests and the idea.

I tinted the windows in my coupe last weekend, and in the instructions for the film it specifically states not to use on any kind of plastic, it will cloud the plastic. So before anyone tries to add extra tint, you may want to check into that.

I find the AC in mine since day one to be below par with AC in any previous car, that being said I doubt altering the sunshades color will do much since the roof is tinted so dark. Living in Green Bay I don't see alot of 90+ degree weather so I can't imagine living in Vegas or AZ with the heat and sun, all I know is when the weather gets cold here my heated leather seats will do the trick!

Jonnysan's fix sounds like a good possibility. 4-2nv, good heads up (times 2).

The key here is to be comfortable in mild weather without having to use the air-con or even vent blowers.

I enjoy driving through the country with just the driver's window down .

I hate windows down especially with my smart, all the gawkers... I find myself using AC way too much, I have even been known to use it in the winter! Sometimes I think I would be happier living in a big air conditioned bubble.
