I bought a smart windshield screen for the front. Overhead I installed a cut-down truck windshield screen over the sunscreen. Side window tinting, too. Park in the shade when possible, leave the windows cracked an inch or so. If this works in FL it should work in DC.
In the winter I pull the panoramic roof shield out so I can enjoy having the scenery overhead.
The A/C will work fine under these conditions without being overloaded on startup.

I find that button on the fob that opens the top a great thing in the summer. I can hit it from half way across the lot and by time I'm at the car, all the hot air has gone up and out of the car. If I hadn't gotten a Cabrio, I would have never gone for the all black w/ leather interior. Though it's great in the winter months.

Shade parking and sun screens

Good point. I do park in the shade and use both a windshield (windscreen) shad and a panoramic shade.

Not bad getting started.

But once one the road, the sun hits me and the AC is cold, but aimed too high. I'll try the vent mod to get the driver's side vent down a bit lower. That should do it.

BTW I have a sunshade mounted on the windshield as well.

Thanks folks!

I think all were fixed with visit to the dealer.
You think DC is bad come and visit Chitown for a summer weekend and you'll be wanting the closest beach in no time. Wisconsin has its summer fun too.

Working at Six Flags: Great America last summer there was a 95 degree day with nearly 100% humidity. Being outside on that day was terribly smelly (guests + no deodorant = ) and nearly unbearable!

It's in the upper 80's today and it's only the 20th!

I think if you use the vent fix, use a reflective sunshade, park in the shade, and use your sunshade you should be just fine!

Thanks Neonspinnazz

I appreciate your observations and will incorporate.

But the DC area will cream the Chi-town area for humidity over the long haul! I've spent summers in Omaha NE, central IL (near Champaign), SE Michigan (Ann Arbor), and now near DC. The mold, pollen, and humidity here is worse than any midwest area.

Perhaps not for magniude but certainly for longevity!

Long live SCOA

Yep... grew up in Dayton Ohio, went to school in Toledo... summered at our house in southern Kentucky, and now I live here... thank God I love heat - this place is a horrid swamp in the summer

Do the Brits still get tropical duty pay when stationed in DC? They did back when I was growing up there.
