Whoahh, that is cold, it is 9 degrees centigrade here in Sheffield, we have been out riding our horses this morning in the sunshine, and it has almost felt warm with the sun in your face, but looking out now it is raining and cloudy.

Headless, are you talking 9f or 9c?

Acording to my weather channel forcast its -3f now and will not rise. Wind chill is in the area of -28 - -30 f.

I worry about my barn cats and chickens in this weather. The Alpacas should be a little uncomfortable.

Edit
Took The Smart out today, 20 deg in the garage but hit -8 out on the blustery road. Wishing for heated seats for the first time.

In NW Indiana it's 1F on my front porch. Even the dogs aren't asking to go out!

21F here in Portland, OR - a tropical heat wave in comparison.

Yesterday we got 9" snow and overnight we got 1/4" ICE on top with more ice expected throughout the day. There's a sheet of ice on everything.

The major highways going out of the metro area are closed, hundreds of flights canceled at the airport and the power outages are spreading. Some communities have declared a "snow emergency" which as far as I can tell is like martial law.

Nope, not going out - again

My car doesn't seem to be affected much by the extreme cold, save for the increased gas consumption. I'm fairly certain the car's ecm is pouring extra fuel to her due to the low ambient air temps.

Now snow and ice is another thing altogether. We had "no drive" warnings here in the Minneapolis area all day yesterday. I drove my awd, turbo-charged Subaru with snow tires to work yesterday. That thing LOVES snow/ice. I drove my smart this morning. Most of the roads were clear.
