What? I've had five vehicles with power windows and I've never had a problem with any of them.

I have 212000 miles on my Benz wagon and it is on it's second battery. Should I be upset at such poor performance. I fully expect the power windows to fail any decade now.

Trust me, once you've had one burn out, and spent the next four or five years at drive thrus and such going ding! ding! ding! while you held the door open to make your deposit or whatever, then power windows become very low on your priority list for your next new car, or two cars......I specifically looked for a minivan without them when I replaced my Aerostar.

And yes, I know, it would only have been a few bucks to get a new motor, but it was the whole principle of the dang thing burning out the day after the warranty expired!!! I never replaced it just for the simple fact it made me so mad every time I thought about it.

So I appreciate where he's coming from.

Fortunately everyone in my family knows sign language, so if one of us pulled up next to the other in traffic or in the driveway, and the crank windows were out of reach, we just signed to one another, lol!!!!

I know "automobile" sign language too. But my vocabulary is limited to one-finger words!

I have the Pure with air. I also have a Passion. Let me describe the difference and why I prefer ther Pure.

1) The solid roof is not as hot inside the car
2) It rides MUCH better on steel wheels than the alloy (Huge Difference)
3) The $450 for EPS is not needed

In my opinion the Pure is the better car for eveyday commuting

I stick by my Pure without A/C....even when it was 90 yesterday I was fine in my car. It was in the upper 50's last night so we get a break...unlike when we lived in Charlotte NC when it was 95 durnig the day and 80 at night...I might have A/C then....but to carry around the A/C for 11 months of the year is not worth it. KEEP THE PURE! (I also like manual windows etc)

Can you go into more depth on why you think the steel wheels are better than the alloy?

If I had to make a guess, I would say the steel wheels are lighter, therefore less unsprung weight. That may make some apparent difference in ride quality. Just an uneducated guess though.
Otherwise, it would have to be the fact that the plastic wheel covers are more aerodynamic.

Not an engineer but go drive a Pure and you will certainly see the difference. I was so shocked that I called the dealer and asked. Maybe someone better than me can explain it but you dont feel the hard hits and bumps. I am not exaggerating. It is so much better that I drive the Pure and not the Passion.

I believe that this is an example of what my old granny called "Cutting off your nose to spite your face". Sounds like less of a technical or mechanical issue than a personality issue. What would you have done if the transmission got stuck in reverse on the same day? Drive backwards for the next 5 years?
