Hi guys, I have had my smart roadster for four and a half years, and have 22,000 miles on it, apart from 3 services, and a couple of recalls, the car has been spot on, it looks as if you guys over there do a lot more mileage than us in Britain, but America is a big place, and I don't have to travel far to work, in the winter the car had just warmed up when I get there, the engine being only 700cc does not produce a lot of heat.

Bought in May, passed 18,000 this week....I drive too much
No such thing
We picked up our smart July 21st. I currently have just over 4,000 miles on her. She drives great! Zippy and fun. And I noticed that at about 2,500 miles she started taking off a lot faster. I'm still not going to beat a sports car off a red light, but she's been beating a lot of other cars. I like how her in the DC area some of the novelty has worn off a bit, it makes it a lot easier to drive. However, when I drive 1 1/2 hours way to visit my parents I still get mobbed, photo taken, dropped jawed looks, etc. So far I've done 2 road trips and looking forward to many many more.
I'm now up to about 22,500 miles after a quiet weekend.
I've had a few hiccups with the car (mainly: needed a new battery after several months of annoying but minor electrical problems) but am quite happy with it. I continue to drive slowly and get around 45 mpg (a bit less now that the weather has gotten colder and the gas blend may have changed). Assuming I can still drive reliably for my daily trips into NYC and back, I'm guessing I'll hit 30,000 miles in mid-March. I bought the car on 5/9/08
Got in June have 12,000 on it. Only issue has been the sunshade being replaced 3 times. I now have the redisgn sunshade and all is so far so good with it
Our first 30,000 mile service on a clients Smart Car. When asked if he had any issues or compaints his answer was "Not a thing". He commutes around 60 miles each way every day and does not monitor gas mileage but seems very happy with it.
It was the night for fives the other evening in the smart: 5,555 miles at 5:55 pm, 55 degrees and in 5th gear. The whole instrument cluster was filled with fives. I wish I'd had a camera with me and maybe I should have bought 5 lottery tickets.

Just wondering: Did he buy the extended warranty from smart, or a third party warranty?
