How many months is the wait in Winston-Salem, NC. and Alexandria, VA.???

When I picked up my new Smart 10 days ago, my salesman told me it is now a 16 month wait (Winston)

Darn! haha...o well while i wait for it, I can save up a bunch of money to pay up front!

Ideally you want to wait 22-24 months you can be first on your block with a 2011. Any sooner and you'll get a 2010. By then you'll be able to get an all electric Smart or maybe a diesel hybrid or even better, a pedal Smart car.

I placed my online reservation in May 2008 - they gave me an estimated delivery date of September - November 2009. I went to the dealer in Alexandria VA and they told me they wouldn't even take my name down in case a car became available because they would have a list a mile long. You just had to be there on the right day to get an orphan. So I went to the dealer in Vienna, VA and they put me on a list, I got a call a little over 2 months later at the end of July.

I think i will just get the 2008! Then if i want i can sell it and get a new smart later.
