This is the way I see cruise control with regard to the smart. (I'm entitled to my opinion, right?)
The smart is disappointing in its fuel economy, period, no ifs ands or buts.
Cruise control is an aid to improved fuel economy.
Need it? No. But, I don't NEED a car. I can walk. I can take the trolly.
Cruise control is not high tech, nor high dollar. It is a COMMON feature in most cars.

I have a estimated delivery date of Oct to Dec. I believe my number is 1624. I called Smart today after reading this post to see if I could delete my sun roof. I spoke to Ashley and she told me to call back on or after the 20th because it has not been officially announced yet as to the changes for the 2009 Smart car. She said they might be willing to let me delete the sun roof from my Passion order. I originally was going to order a Pure, but after much thought of the lack of amenities, and resale value, I decided to live with a sun roof and configured a passion.

I might not take delivery of the 2008 Passion if they won't let me delete the sun roof and just put in another reservation and wait for a 2009 Passion minus the sun roof. Yes I dis-like sun roofs that much!

I configured a 2008 Passion in crystal white w/silver tridion cell. Black interior with the clock & tachometer. I also ordered the fog lights. That's all the extras I ordered! Too bad it may become an orphan I hope Smart car will let me delete the sun roof otherwise I will be waiting another waiting period for the car minus the silly sun roof

I ordered my 2004 Mini cooper S without the sun roof too. I just don't see the use in a sun roof. It takes up head room, and I am tall. I understand that the Smart car sun roof is not glass so it doesn't add any weight but it detracts form the lines of the car IMHO.

We will see what they say on the 20th!

The "sunroof" in the smart does not take up any headroom, it is merely the difference between a solid black panel and a clear plastic panel.

The last four digits of your full reservation umber are what marks the day you paid your $99 deposit and is what we call "reservation number".

You can order seperate panels.
