Husband filled smart with CHEAP gas!

and I mean FILLED! I just found out and am, needless to say, not happy.
What's the best way to get it back to at least 91 octane? Let it go half way then fill it again or just use it all up and never allow him to get gas again?

Just drive it. One tank isn't going to hurt.

...make sure you burn all that gas before you take the car to the track...you know...race cars run better on race fuel....if you're not going to race it then don't sweat the little stuff...drive it the same way and if you are keeping track of mpg see what you get on this tank....you'll be surprised...

The Owner's Manual states:

! To maintain the engine’s durability and performance, premium unleaded gasoline must be used. If premium unleaded gasoline is not available and low octane fuel is used, follow these precautions:
-Have the fuel tank only partially filled with unleaded regular gasoline and fill up with premium unleaded gasoline as soon as possible.
-Avoid full throttle driving and abrupt acceleration.
-Do not exceed an engine speed of 3,000 rpm if the vehicle is loaded with a light load such as two persons and no cargo.
-Do not exceed 2/3 of maximum accelerator pedal position if the vehicle is fully loaded or operating in mountainous terrain.

Basically, it means add high octane gas as capacity becomes available, and don't force the engine into detonation with hard use while doing so.

Do the calculation and add enough octane booster to compensate.

Don't worry. Be happy.

I've ended p with one or two full tanks of cheap gas and my car didn't detonate on me. Your mileage may suffer slightly if the ECU detects (and adjusts for) knocking but that should be a short-lived adjustment if at all.

Getting enough fiber I guess, will that help your mileage?

Weez...........
I've been running 87 for 28k miles (18 months). Never noticed a problem. The computer will retard your timing though.
You can run 1/2 gallon of e85 to raise the octane back up.
