I got a speeding ticket in the smart, who else has??

Got caught going 67 in a 55 (in the right lane) on the 4 lane hwy 60. I have not got a ticket in nearly 3 years and I manage to get one in the slowest car sold in America. Anyone else manage to achieve such a feat??

and it doesn't take any great shakes to do. The car IS limited to 90mph, ya' know, so I don't know how you can call it the "slowest" car in America. . . not once it's up to speed any way -

Lighten up on the throttle and save your $$$ for bling and such.

I got two speeding tickets within 1 month so my family dubbed me this name. You were caught, most likely because you were NOTICED. I doubt you were the fastest driver there. If you drove in a Focus or a Caravan at the same speed, you wouldn't have been ticketed. That's why a Corvette or a Red Mustangs are usually caught. They are more easily noticeable and stand out in a sea of mundane cars.

Did you say anything to the cop? Did he/she say anything about the car?

He didn't say anything about the car, like I thought he would. Thought I would try this as an argument if I decided to go to court, but I doubt it would work. I guess I will go to traffic school, in Ky we are allowed to go once a year to keep the insurance company from finding out (I realize that this is not the states reasoning, but this is how I see it.) I do think the smart is the slowest car sold in the US, it has the slowest 0-60, slowest 1/4, and a 90mph top speed is lower than most cars.

Not necessarily the case; two years with a yellow Z06 and now 6+ years with a red one and no tickets so far (and that includes running with no front plate.) I'll probably regret posting this.

Stopped 2X but no tickets.
Both times because it looked dangerous to go that fast in that little car.

Even a NEV (neighborhood Electric Vehicle) can get a speeding ticket in a School Zone.

90 MPH is well over the speed limit in all but a handful of places.

It doesn’t matter how quick you get to that speed, it’s about where you top out.
Just because everyone passed you while you were accelerating doesn’t mean you need to make it up later by passing them back.

Over the speed limit is over the speed limit.

A few years ago I was in downtown DC near the capital.

I witnessed a moron in a Lamborghini make an illegal turn.
Passed by a few minutes later and saw the same lambo had been pulled over and was being written up by a DC cop ON A BICYCLE ! ! !

Had to pull over till I stopped laughing.

My boyfriend once got a speeding ticket while on his bicycle.

He went to court to fight it and the judge looked at the cop and asked, "Didn't you have anything better to do?" The judge threw the case out.
