I hate it when the DDE moves out

It was nice when it moved in from December. It was 8/6 then 8/19 now 8/27. Someday it will show up I hope.

Waiting for the delivery date was the hardest part of the process.
There's no real satisfactory explanation from anyone at the dealer level or even from corporate in my experience. Other than the scripted, patronizing "any day now" response.
I know I ordered in late May 2007 and finally took delivery on 08.08.08 in Denver. It appears that this time slot seems to be taking about 15 months and then (in some areas) increases as time goes by depending on the actual order/configuration date.
All the estimated delivery calculator does is give you a 3 month window of possiblity of delivery time and divert you away from "live" customer service who can tell you nothing tangible anyway.
Just be patient and take all the repeated questions from your friends ("Got your Smart yet?") in stride.

DDE still moving out slowly. It is now at 9/4. The good news is I now have a VIN from the dealer and will try to track it.
