I just cancelled my black with red interior

I was supposed to pick up my Black/silver with red interior in 3 weeks but i cancelled.

Instead ill get a white crystal/silver with black interior. in 3 weeks

Lots of my friends will think im crazy to pass on a rare red interior, but red interior isn't for my style. and black exterior is too dark and creepy for me.

there was a time when i used to listen to dark music, and dressing in black. but that ain't me anymore. I need bighter color theme to make my life a little happier so i try to avoid black. So my black/silver with red interior is about to become an orphan.

I would've gotten a red interior if it was in leather. Sorry your car got orphaned. But don't worry, someone will pick it up - if they knew where it was.

Order another one and come back!

Sound like someone orphaned the other car in the same batch your car was coming in? Well god for you, whatever makes you happy

Based on the board I wouldn't say the red interior is all that rare.. but anyways, should you change your mind and want red maybe the dealer could simply swap out the black panels for you

No, they don't swap out panels, atleast not for free. I already looked into it. ;)
They said it takes about 5 hours to change all the panels and the new panels they have in stock are not even painted.

Plus, if you want to change all the interior from red to black you have to buy every parts.

It will mess up their inventory they said so if i want to do the changes
I will end up with 4 seats, 2 dash, extra parts, 2 set of panels and over 2 days of labor.

Nah, i'll think i'll go with a new car... They will soon have a white orphan available. Ill get that one instead. Its only 3 weeks away. 4 at most.
I'll post some pics when i'll get it. (if i get it)

I went through the high color phase of life too. But now my wife says my gray hair ( and graying skin tones) just don't work with bright color clothes and cars anymore.

So I am back in black!! ( Black/Black/Red Passion Coupe that is).

And that's why I went with the black passion instead of the silver. I wanted to stand out a bit and not just blend in with the car . Even though I'm black, black and black I like the red interior with the black, very nice. Man, could you see red leather in there, I think that would look hot.

Red leather, the nice retro-tone without any black inserts would be awesome indeed.

If smart is listening (hint, hint), I hope they make this an available option for the next round of cars.

could be wrong, but i believe both of the statements above to be incorrect. i was told it takes 2 hours to switch out the panels and they absolutely DO come painted. if not, why would they show all of the colored panels hanging in the lobby and sold as aftermarket. plus, wouldn't selling the panels raw requiring finishing kind of defeat the whole "green" effect of this car.

also, from what i've heard, the panels have not even arrived at any dealers yet. sounds like we need more speculation.
