The pods are nice, but you can get a Scan Gauge for a lot less and see RPMs... The time is already in the digital display on the dash. If you must have them later - have them installed. A bit pricey, but still may be better than waiting until summer...

What ever you decide - it will be a good decision in the end. You will be a smart owner!

Yeh, I'm not too worried about the pods. But a scanguage II? I'll have to look into one of those.

The GM of Creve Couer Smart just called in and said the orphan was in as of today, and the paperwork should finally be dealt with by Friday.
So, after a bit of thinking, I'm gonna go ahead and take the orphan. If I can get someone around me who wants my reserved smart, I'll push it through for them. Otherwise I'm just gonna let it time out.

Well, the dealer called me with an orphan about a week ago with all but one of the things I wanted (the pods). Thinking it may be awhile before I confirm, And being extremely excited, I said yes..
And today, I get the email for configuration! Now I'm torn between waiting it out or just adopt.. I can't afford to do both. Gaaaaaah. *sigh*
You can buy the pods at the dealer. Make a deal with them, by having them put on the pods on for you, if you buy this car. You will have to pay for the part. They want to get rid of the orphan car.

I got my ScangaugeII just after picking up my Smart. Plugs right in and works great!! takes up much less room than the pods and you get twenty times the information (if you want it) I switched it over to my wife's Moutaineer to reset the check engine light that comes on every few months with a catalytic converter error. (been looked at 4 times with no problems found) An added benefit is it stores top speed so you can check up on the kids driving, just don't tell them about it.

P.S. Got mine as kind of an orphan off Ebay, my DDE is Feb-March 2010. Glad I got mine instead of waiting.
