I put my Smart through a automatic car wash

I have the Cabrio and I ran it through a brushless wash with the push/pull track on the left side and my Smart came out undamaged and clean as a whistle!

Thanks for posting this. My dad keeps asking me if it will fit properly at the car wash and I've been meaning to ask if anyone here has taken it through one yet. Glad to hear the car isn't too narrow to fit in the tracks.

The wash.

Been a lot of BS on the Smart wash issue. Ours has been through three times now (1400 miles) and all is well.

It did not scratch, or hang up on the track. Nor did the colors run, and it did not shrink.

All is well in Washville and we got a free wash upgrade cause the car was so short.

A2Jack.

"The fleet of cars used on the smart road show were put through about 42 zillion car washes during 2007. Day after day, city after city. Occasionnally they weren't fully cleaned due to their size and wash equipment limitations, but not often. In any case, from full service washes to gas station quickies. None were damaged, all looked perfect at the end of the year, cabriolet tops and passion roofs included.

I tried to go through one of these laser assisted drive-through car washes, where the laser beam detects the front and rear ends of the car to determine its proper positioning in the car wash. It refused to accept the shortness of the Smart and had me move forward and backwards several times and then it shut down. This was a $10 experiment.... :-(

My car wash uses humans, no brushes, down the line. They wash it just fine!

Someone said in an earlier post that the dryer blowers actually detached a portion of the front bonnet and a plastic piece flew out. If that was you please refresh my memory.
