I reserved in Nov of '07 (purchased an orphan in Feb of '08) and have just configured my car for an estimated delivery of "Dec-Feb, '09"...looks like my wait is just over a year.

  2. Go to a dealer and buy an orphan (someone else reserved and configured a car that they didn't take) with whatever the dealer wanted to add on to it at whatever price they choose to charge, but you get it now.

Oh sir can you please tell me why I someone who looks out their window and sees NYC is on dde list that can't be estimated on smartusa.com?Oh I reserved back in April and my wait is 18 months to two years. Is it that I am too close to NYC? I am across the river so that is the NYC area right?

Given what I've seen on this forum, I would guess that your dde would be rapidly changing. It is also possible that you were lucky enough to be associated with the one smart center in the NYC area that was getting as many customers as the rest of the country

Actually I am associated with three, one the so-called largest smart dealer in the USA and one which is a MB company store in the the USA.Oh well at least I have my orphan. The thing is everytime I hear NYC is getting cars quicker than everyone else.I couldn't be closer to NYC without being in it and I have a at least an 18 month wait according to dde(off the board).
