I want Smart

Hello.

I really like Smart and want to have share enjoy of Smart in my country.
Unfortunately, my country does not have Smart dealership.
If I can import Smart, I have many people who can share driving of Smart.
I have contacted Smart dealer in New Jersey where I used to live before I came back to Korea. Smart dealer won’t sell it to foreign customer. If I can get untitled Smart for import, I have plan to import 10~20 Smart per month. Smart dealer in US who can supply it, I would like to have business relationship for good.
The Smart dealers I have contact are afraid that it would affect they relationship with Benz. I only can say that Korea does not have any official Smart dealer. Is there any dealer can resolve my problem, I would like to have relationship.

I seriously doubt you will find any help in the U.S. Best bet would be Europe.
Dealerships there typically have many smarts ready to sell. Many still have brand new forfours unsold. I would look into Germany or Italy.

the only problem with your situation is that we AMERICANS "Want Smart" too and can't get them either. i honestly can't see any dealer in the US giving up 10-20 cars/month to someone in Korea when they can barely GET 20 cars/month TOTAL for their OWN customers here in this country.

if you are 'legit', your best bet is to try Europe about the 451's.

I thought about but there is problem that European model has lack of option. For example, ESP optioned car is very limited.
Also American model have almost NO problem for import.
European model has lot of problem to solve with.
Especially, emission and etc.

Anyway thank for your reply.
Please Smart dealers advise me.

The time will solve the problem.

To be honest,
Smart is not right car for the country where US is SO big.
but Korea is small country where road is short and fuel is expensive.
Anyway I hope someone who can help me to solve my problem.

you're absolutely right......place your $99 reservations for 10-20 cars and get in line. hey, who knows....if smart usa does use the zip codes to expedite some orders as we suspect, maybe you will be moved to the head of the line, since you're the first in KOREA to order!

There are a couple of Asia Pacific region/countries whereby smart is sold - such as Malaysia, Hongkong and Japan as well as Australia. You could give them a try too ... these countries are closer to Korea and you should have better luck there - they were selling the 450 before 2008 but should be selling the 451 now since this is the newer model.
