delivery estimator has been changing, its now pushed back from March 2009 to June-August 2009. Closest dealer is in Birmingham, AL.

If anyone can figure out how to transfer a reservation/configuration from this dealer, then I will transfer it to you. no strings. I'm just getting my $99 reservation back.
do the legwork to figure it out and its yours.
otherwise will just get reservation fee back and leave the car as an orphan to whomever is next and wants it bad enough.

I had considered the Mini Cooper but it seems rather cramped. When I saw the 'roomy' video in the Smart TV section, I went with the Smart Fortwo. Plus it was less expensive than the Mini Cooper. I still think the Mini Cooper is but I think the Smart Fortwo is cooler.

basically, thats what I'm offering for anyone who doesn't want to wait so long. still a long wait though and delivery date keeps getting pushed back. no one I know wants it, and I am ga-ga over the mini now.

went ahead and cancelled the smart reservation, although my arrival date moved up to january 09 from august.
turned the mini cooper into an ice cream truck.
was thinking about doing the same for the fortwo, but decided not to.
good luck to whomever inherits the smart car orphan, if its been built.
