This has been interesting. 2008 Passion. 70,000 miles. Had broken a windshield awhile back and went without the rain sensor replacement. Left the sensor wiring unattached. While attempting to use those wires for another purpose, shorted something out and...
Have regular headlights, no high beams (dark)
Have interior map light between visors
Have rear lights and brake lights but no turn signals
Have radio, but no dash lights, no speedometer, odometer, tach or clock.
Have weakly working emergency flashers and weakly working 12 volt outlet.
Have manual transmission and automatic transmission, but inoperative paddles.
Have keyed car locking and unlocking, but no "beeping" to accompany locking.
Have horn, power windows and power mirror, but no heated seat operation
Have interior fan blower, but no AC operational.
Seems as though most of the working things allow the vehicle to operate okay, with caution, but the number of items not working sure appears major. Any ideas? All fuses appear to be good in the fuse area. It has been an adventure.

The fuses might be good, but you need to check your relays. Whatever you did to tap into the wiring of your rain sensor was a bad idea, it could have damaged your SAM control unit.
What were you trying to do when you tried to tap into the rain/light sensor for power? What'd you have against a direct wire to the battery with an inline fuse? Just curious.

It looks like the SAM is the only thing in common with all those systems. Just for kicks, did you disconnect the battery for a while and see if it made a difference? I've had some electronics that were severely confused after a static electricity jolt or power fluctuations during a storm and some of them recovered after a long timeout without power. And, others didn't...
By the way, do you know that everything was working beforehand? You mentioned that the windshield was broken and I seem to remember something about water ingress around badly sealed windshields also causing SAM damage.
