Ingenious Europeans

Just read an article that a Smart car club in europe meets periodically and members exchange body panels, to keep their cars looking "fresh". Blue panels on Monday, Red on the weekend. Wonder if this will catch on in North America. I have no opinion one way or the other. Just seems original.

From what I understand, it's the 450 model, not the US model and it's easier for them to swap panels around?

450 versus 451. That may be the catch!

Can be swapped on both models. They've had over 10 years to build up enough numbers to make these meets practical; the USA has just over 16K smarts (at last count) spread out over a huge area so it will be awhile before this happens here IMHO. Meanwhile, check out this forum thread: Body Panels - Sale, Wanted or Swap Thread

Always remember - Europeans only have soccer (which they call football, so as not to be left out at Superbowl time), while we have Baseball from late winter/spring to early fall, football from late summer to mid winter, hockey and backetball from fall to spring, tiddley-winks on ESPN pretty much year 'round.... You get the point. With only 4 BBC channels, they have to do SOMETHING to keep from going buggy...
(The 4 BBC channels, BTW, is the only reason there hasn't been another world war since the invention of TV...)

Now, on to our regularly-scheduled conversation...

Isn't SKY still around? MTV? Of course it's been a good 13 years since I lived in Europe.....

Dude, soccer is not the only sport we have. We have.......umh soccer and we have...drinking beer does that count as a sport? What other sport could one ask for?
That is a perfect combo, Fussball and BIER.
