I agree, the read out is difficult to see in daytime. Here's a helper fix.

I use a small, unnoticeable strip of white vinyl tape stuck on the column post just under the panel. This reflects just enough light to at least read the gas gauge (Actuality, it works pretty well for the whole panel, at least a 40% increase in daytime readability.) A2Jack

Would a polarized film, cut to fit the instrument panel, work to cut glare? Don't LCD televisions come with this type of anti-glare film? Maybe someone who knows about these things can shed some light on the subject (sorry, couldn't help it).
