If anyone was a Geico customer who was turned down for full coverage, CALL GEICO BACK. I spoke with Mike in the Executive Office yesterday and he was able to present the situation to someone in power. Geico turned down insuring the Smart because their computer had it coded as a European model (not built to US Safety specs). I am happy to say that once the error was called to Geico's attention, the problem was resolved within hours. I picked up my yellow & black cabrio last night. Insurance was $326/six months (we have 3 other cars and one is in the body shop at the moment becuse it was hit by a deer, so not a perfect or "clean" claim record.) If you have any other brand of insurance and you are turned down PLEASE CONTACT THE COMPANY HQ. It is a coding error. Go Smart!
