I have lately been getting a lot of mail from various auto insurance companies and agents addressed either to me by name or to "Smart Driver." I suspect that Internet Brands is peddaling my personal information gleaned from the original reservation form. And they have a lot, including drivers license numbers.

IB called me last night-customer satisfaction survey-
I gave high marks for most things.The add-ons to orphans reduced my satisfaction

When I asked about re-configuring for 2009, first was told probably not going to happen-then after supervisor query, was told yes, re-configurations will happen-don't know when

I've gotten the same thing, but I also got them long before I reserved my smart. I just assumed they were sending it to an "intelligent" driver, not a smart car owner.

Sad to say, your state department of motor vehicles folks may be providing that info.

I haven't gotten anything - and I would also suspect your state motor vehicle department.

The interesting thing is, three disparate insurance companies addressing as "Smart Driver," plus my home address. This started before I took delivery, before the state was ever involved. I don't think that the Commonwealth of Virginia has anything to do with it.

I've gotten the same thing... from Geico, I think. I was tempted to write on it, "Return to Sender - No such addressee - Only stupid driver here."

I've also gotten "Sensible driver" and "Safe driver" so I don't think it's brand name they're referring to. I've gotten these for a couple years before signing up for the Smart.

After shopping around (on the Net) for an insurance, I got a lot of junk mail from various companies. And this despite being on the "do not call" lists...
It can be due to an automatic targeted marketing system/software?
