Interstate driving

Yesterday (Sunday July 19) I drove my new smartie from Pittsburg, Kansas to Vinita, Oklahoma to visit my son and his family. This trip is about 70 miles each way.

I traveled down on the Will Rogers Turnpike along with many semi-rigs and other weekend drivers. I had no problem with wind gusts from the big rigs and had no worries that I was in their way or about to be "run over". While the smart is no traditional long distance interstate cruiser it was adequate for for my trip.

Not to diminish your trip, But that's a commute for some.

I've often driven my wee smartie over 500 in one day. Maybe not "traditional" - whatever that means - but it is a superlative long-haul critter for me.

Yeah, 140 miles is a short trip. I've personally done 1,000 on a three day weekend. Still, good to know you are pleased with the car's highway performance.

Hey if the guy was in RI I would have given him a break because 50 miles is an over nighter.

But were talking about Kansas and Oklahoma here, Thats a trip into town

It's easy to be pleased with your car if your expectations are low. Expect more and be surprised!

I Found 70+ mph Freeway driving much more pleasant after recent cruise control install.

That's one of the differences between the UK and the Colonies; you think 100 miles is a long distance, and we think 100 years is a long time.
