Ipod sound

The Radio 9 and Radio 10 have a MP3/Ipod input. Has anyone tried an Ipod/mp3 player in a Fortwo and how is the sound quality?

I have a Radio 10 with subwoofer. iPod sounds fine, CDs sound even better. I burn MP3 data CDs and they also sound great. The jack in the glove box is for anything that has a headphone plug output. Buy a $6 cable from Radio Shack.

One note, you cannot control the iPod from the radio. Just turn the volume up and down from the radio.

Yep, used my Ipod nano and it sounded great. A good bit better than the FM. Also hooked up XM this evening fed through the same aux input and that sounds wonderful. So much better than the FM modulator that I have been using in my other cars. About the only option that my orphan didn't have was the upgraded Radio 10, but the Radio 9 doesn't sound that bad at all.

Did you install the XM antenna as well? Mine is wired through the innards of my Avalon...do I have to buy a new antenna for the smart?

I have the radio 9 on my smart and hooked it up with the aux jack and it does sound WAY better than a FM modulator. But I still have not try the cd.

I installed the xm antenna on the dash. Ran the line up the left side and used doublesided foam tape to secure it. Reception is great with it there.
