Just picked it up!

.. well, actually 2 days ago, but who's counting. It's a silver/black tridion passion w/ comfort, pods, heated leather.

First feelings, after something like 15 cars..
-It's certainly not a 'compromise' car. We have a 3-series BMW and a Saab 9-5- both well engineered cars and the fortwo fits in easily and feels like a 'real' car.
-Seems well built
-The transmission for all the gripes about it really seems GREAT. It's maybe a little bi-polar (auto/manual/etc) but I think it's really well suited for the city.
-Great nimbleness
-The power windows are a little close to you when driving, but otherwise, it's particularly well designed, from a functionality p.o.v.
-I already hauled a 6' piece of wood trim (tipped the passenger seat down) no problem.
-Drove from a dead stop up one of the very steepest hills in SF, no problem.

The buying experience was a 9 outta 10 (the finance guy who played dumb about warrantees .. and had ye olde' salesman techniques that made me roll my eyes.. but he was nice enough) and the sales people were really super.

It's nice to be past the wait.
Yippee!

I take it you didn't add any warranties to your car. Is the standard 2 yr 24000 miles ?. I'm curious if an extended warranty should be purchased.

Congrats on your newest addition

Hey, groovy, maaan, like, far out! Oh, sorry, that was the old San Francisco.

Great news, glad to hear it all worked out at the dealer (they just won't give up on those old sales pitches, will they?) Please post some photos and details in the Official Delivery thread. Thanks!

Yeah, big congrats on your new toy, Anthony. I'm so envious of all the new owners.

Can you elaborate on this one?

I did choose to add a year to the warranty. 2 years is a bit brief in my opinion.. and (not that I would) you actually can cancel it and get a refund anytime before the car passes into the added-on warranty stage.

I also ordered velour floor mats, rubber oddiments trays for the dash and the cargo cover. None in stock.. but soon enough.

The power windows are totally fine... though the switches are positioned more towards the rear of the car than I recalled. Maybe I just sit close to the steering wheel.. either way, no big deal.

I'll check to see what the build date is. Cheers.. off for a drive.
