Dear Reservation Holder,

This has been a remarkable week for smart USA! On Wednesday we delivered the first smart fortwo in the United States and, as of today, deliveries to Reservation Holders are taking place at smart centers nationwide.

We appreciate how anxious all of our Reservation Holders are to take delivery of their very own smart fortwo. We also apologize for not being able to communicate more specific information regarding the status of your individual order.

Reservation Holders whose vehicles are in route from Germany have been notified by smart USA and their dealer. Within the next 30 days any Reservation Holder who has a confirmed order in production will also be notified by smart USA and their dealer.

For all other Reservation Holders, we are working diligently to provide you with a 90 day window for your anticipated delivery, based on assumptions available at that time. This information should be available by the end of March.

Again, we appreciate your continued patience and enthusiasm!

I'm due to get my Fortwo in late fall..My question is...Will it be a 2008 model or 2009..Has anybody heard when the 2009 models will be out?

Question. Was this an unsolicited email from smart,or was it in response to an inquiry you made to smart? I ask because I didn't get the email. My reservation # is 1185 and I configured on 11/06

Hi Danip, unsolicited last week. Have you heard anything from Obrien/smart yet? I am 1183 configured 10/26, and totally confused on timing for delivery. A 1180 has received their smartie, but in the midwest. IB did say in a recent phone conversation to expect delivery within the first quarter '08.
Having trouble sitting still waiting...

I'm also a 1185, also configured on 11/06. I received this email on 1/18.

FWIW an earlier post in another thread stated that 2009 models would be introduced in early 2009 so as to allow the current rezos to receive an 08 at 08 prices.
