...NCC...not a cell phone user...that makes two of us...
Shock, shock! I'm not the only one? Ah, but have you EVER owned one? LOL
Anyway, call me crazy, but I honestly ENJOY being incommunicado while driving, or hiking ... lots of times. Weird, huh?
not weird at all....BTW..NEVER owned one...when I travel I'm forced to take the wife's phone..They know where to find me, if I'm not at work I'm at home at SCOA.
I have a cell phone but it is usually off. I use it for emergencies.
I've got a long trip coming up, and I may buy a TracFone for emergency purposes. If I do, it will be my first. And, I don't see it being used otherwise. I'd have probably stashed one in the glove box previously, if it weren't for the fact that the minutes expire. Deal breaker.
Plus, when you need it MOST, you're probably going to be out of service range.
Granted, I've used smartphones and cellphone-paired PDAs for the last 7 years, and between Google/Google Maps, Windows Live Search, and Wikipedia, I can find out what I need to know within minutes from anywhere.
That said, not everybody has a smartphone or wants to take the time to run a search and then go through the results to find their specific information (and for some people, their time is valuable enough that it's worth a buck to have someone else do the search) . I expect they'll do fairly well, and wish them luck.
I personally don't have much use for the service though.

Whaddaya mean you just signed up??? Is this paying gig? Do you have to put the KGB logo and 542 542 on your smart? Will they take you (me) if my smart is pink rather than blue? I know a lot of useless stuff, I'm a google mistress and I can make up what I can't figure out.
oh, yea.. and I Text!
Nicely done ads, featuring the smarts. I likey!
They're on tour - in Dallas today. I don't see the schedule of where they go next.
Yes, it's a paying gig like ChaCha is. You have to "prove" you're a good searcher / researcher, they accept you preliminarily and about a week afterwards, they send you a more comprehensive test to prove your mettle. Me having a smart has nothing to do w/ the process and no, I dont have to do anything to my smart. I guess I should contact them and ask if they'd sponsor me in some way, I figure that may be a good idea, I 'll think about that...
But yea, if you're a master researcher, you're in there. Just sign up on their site. They go through it and you wont receive that 'welcome email' til about a week later, at least w/ me it took a week. It may be different now.
