Throughout the chilly, windy Oregon Coast clime, my smart fortwo passion cabrio brings people together, and everyone smiles and nods. People seem really interested in the possibility of my smart being electric. While not necessarily disappointed, in fact, they're ok with the fact it's gas. Everyone likes The Numbers.

Quickly addressing the Safety issue by comparing the cage to a nutshell, as with racecars, generates nods of understanding; and comparing smart's crumple zones and four airbags to whatever they have, raises eyebrows.

One of the reasons I was drawn to the smart concept is my exasperation at paying for more and more expensive gas to drive around empty space and weight. When I bring up single driver patterns, more nods and amens.

The mini-towing options popping up are getting 'it.' And the 'garages' in RV World are getting 'it.'

Always the optimist, it's easy to envision the smart concept growing from our a grass-roots. Clever, adaptable, ultimately urban and rurally suited, and beautifully safe and eco-friendly.

I loved the individual service & delivery customer care, but didn't like the fact that they loaded up my orphan car w/ $2K+ in options before I picked it up. It sure was nice to only deal with our rep, Clint Morey from start to finish. They didn't even push for me to buy the extended warranty at closing....lol. I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid last month up in Longview and had to deal w/ the infamous pass off from the nub sales rep to the deal closer. The experience really sucked compaired to that of my smart purchase. It sure would be nice if all the car companies treated their customers as well as smart does.
