The latest, silliest question....

So I'm at the local gas station standing next to the nozzle in my smart, waiting for the pump to finish.

This guy and his wife walk up to me.

He says,"That's kinda cool! Really small, ain't it?!"

She says," Is it electric?"

I've gotten that one a few times......although not at the gas station - DUH

Got that one too!!! In fact I got it a few times....Last time I got 'is it electric?' while filling it with gas...I said 'yes...but I can't get away from my addiction to gasoline'!

the "electric" comment is actually one of the more common questions I hear.

the electric thing is so annoying to me... I just point to the gas cap and drive away.

I think most people with the "Is it electric?" question - at least the ones that ask at the gas station are trying to say, "Is that a hybrid?" but fall short with their question. Remember the Insight made everyone think that all hybrid were "different" looking. The Smart is different looking so automatically they think it is other than a full-time gasoline engine.

Not the latest silliest question but certainly the most common for me. The latest silliest questionI got was "Is it solar powered?" as I'm putting gas in.

Yep. I've been asked that same question at least twice while filling up. Would probably be more but I don't have to make many trips to the gas station. ;)
