I know this is last minute, but Red H has suggested a "Leaf Peeper" Road Rally for this Saturday, October 4, 2008.
We will meet at 10:00 am at the Dunkin' Donuts, 1999 Plainfield Pike in Johnston (Route 14) just off Route 295 (exit 4). She has mapped out a very nice, 45 min to 1 hour drive around the Scituate Reservoir in Scituate, Rhode Island, that has just two stop lights. We figure that, allowing time for everyone to gather and any stops we may want to make along the way, perhaps to purchase pumpkins or other produce, it will be just about lunch time when we finish the ride and we can find a place to have a nice lunch.
I hope everyone will come, even though it is last minute!
If possible, please try to let me know if you're going to try to make it.
Thank Red H for giving me a kick in the butt and for planning everything!
Hope to see you all on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 am.
>:-( As someone who sits and watches his DDE move out one day for each day he checks (this is five days in a row now, it's moved out one day each day to 10/24-1/22), I can say, "ARRRRRRRRGHHH!!!!!"
I asked the wife if she wants to drive by on Saturday and see all the little cars and she said, "NO!!" :::sulking:::
Yep! That's the place. Just take Exit 4 West off 295. Drive straight for about a mile (or maybe less, not very good at judging!). It will be on the right side in a mini mall. First DD you come to.

We don't care if you still have to drive a BIG car! Please at least stop in and see us. We'd like to get to know you.
If your DDE is moving out by one day each day (later, not earlier), you coming close. Maybe another 6 weeks or so. Once the DDE settles, you can figure about one month from the first date. Good luck.

Thanks. It WOULD be nice to get to know the other local owners. I'll try to convince the wife. If you see a blue Saturn being driven by a big guy with glasses and a goatee, and the woman in the passenger seat jumps out and runs, crying, to hug the nearest Smart, that's us.

This is exactly the reaction I love! It's how I still feel after owning my little Poppy for over three months. She's still fun to drive, and just as much fun to look at! Tell your wife to keep in touch with the dealer. There have been many of us who got orphans. In fact, my car was an orphan. It just turns out that it is exactly what I ordered, but I got it about six weeks sooner that I would have otherwise.
Please come, if you can. Mine is the Red/Black Passion Coupe. You'll recognize the license plate. It is: DOENUT

Appropriate to be meeting in a Dunkin' parking lot then!
We'll most likely be there... looking large and out of place among the tiny cars, but...
