leather or red interior? time to configure

got the email to configure my 2009 smart the other day.
have been trying to decide whether to get the full comfort package with :
Black leather seats
Heated seats
Electric power steering (eps)
Rain sensing windshield wipers
Light sensor (autolight)
Auto-off headlamps with exit delay all for $850
or the red cloth interior
with Heated seats $ 220.00 (wife loves those things, so have to have)
and Electric power steering (eps) $ 450.00
I really like the look of colored interiors, but have never had cloth seats before so the leather seats are really something for an economy sized car like this. I love the bits of red trim everywhere but does the leather version have leather trim everywhere?
It is going in a Blue Passion Coupe with Silver tridian cell.
Please help with opinions or if someone has this color combination.

I had to make the same tough choice. Several months after living with leather and my decision, I definitely made the right choice. Go get some red wiper buttons and red trim kit... then you can have your 'bits of red trim.' Good luck!

Someone I had consulted on a "major" acquisition told me that, no matter what advise was given, if anything is not up to par, the advisor would get the blame... Can I abstain? (though I chose red for my w/s)

we're partial to leather

but just the seats are covered (excluding the center inserts, which are cloth-like mesh). My Mazda3 has auto-wipers and lights which I've grown to appreciate as well so the comfort pkg won out. Our only concern with the cloth seats was with how fast they would show stains (even something simple as water) as we had a light-interior New Beetle back aways that was terrible (beige cloth seats). With all of the different shades of gray and black its not like a totally black interior but is definitely darker than red ** you could down the road have the red cloth seats re-covered but for now the only way to get leather is in black. Either way get the heated seats as they do work pretty good!

I have the comfort package. I really never thought I would need heated seats (I live in atlanta) and really how hard is it to turn on your lights? Now that I have my smart, I love the leather seats, the heated seats are amazing on a cold morning, and the lights are great. I even like the auto wipers. Go for the comfort package, you won't be disappointed.

Leather will be hot in the summer, but the value it brings is worth it.

In the minority here, but the red looks great with the blue/silver combo IMHO. That's what our original config was; now that we have the beige interior I'd still rather have red. Power steering? Again, my opinion only but it's not needed. The car drives very much like our older Mini and you can really throw it around with the manual steering and no problems parking or turning at low speeds.

There's nothing like leather. Plus the package with leather you get so much more stuff, rather than ordering ala carte
