A lesson learned about maintaining marital bliss

I am posting this to allow others to learn from my mistake. On Tuesday, my wife and I went to the dealership to take care of the payment and paperwork. My wife did not feel very well that day and wanted to get home quickly. Yesterday, the car was ready to be picked-up. My wife, however, had stayed home because she still did not feel good. Now comes the mistake. I decided to surprise her by picking-up the car, drive it home and put it in the empty garage. Little did I know about what would happen next. My wife happened to be outside with the dog and saw me coming up the drive in HER Smart. She was royally pi**ed at me for having taken delivery alone and driven it home without her being along for the ride. I had to listen to it all evening. So, all of you guys with wifes or wifes with husbands or persons with partners, do not make the same mistake I made. Go together and enjoy the delivery show. Only when she made it to the office today and had all of her colleagues go ape over her cute tiny car, did her usually good mood return and we are again on talking terms...

She might forgive you (or say she has) but,

She will never let you forget it.

They look for instances like this. They file them away but keep them ready at all times for immediate use.

I am a married woman. I speak only for myself. But if my loving husband (of 25 years-yea us!!) took it upon himself to go to the dealer, go thru all that paper work hassle, and proudly deliver my new baby car to me, after I'd been sick for 2 or 3 days...I'd never let him forget it alright...never let him forget how loving & thoughtful he was!! How nice of you!! You get a warm pat on the back from me, mister!!

My woman bought herself a Yaris last year, and if she sneezes near my smart I'm gonna punch her in the face. The same rule applies to my 8 so she's used to it ;)

"Do you have a sister?"

Yeah, but she's one of those 'other' girls...you know...like the descriptions the others have put up. I'm just not a card-carrying member of the typical 'girls club' because it's mostly man-bashing. And I'm a lover, not a basher! (grin...blush...oh, hell...grin bigger!!)
