Go together and enjoy the delivery show.
Besides the papework, what's the value in the delivery show that warrants bringing my loved one with me? Except of the first ride home, together.:woohoo

I'm with Anita

Yes she does, but too late... 24-42..

I married her 25 years ago.. maybe not Anita's biological sister, but certainly the same selfless values and thoughts on what love is as AnitaInKC....

Sure, like all married folks we have our quirks, squabbles, and ups and downs...but I know, without asking, that she would have the same thoughts that Anita expressed... think I will keep her unto death, as promised.

I bet EVERYONE on here can somehow relate to this post.

There must also be relationships where one was FOR buying the smart, and the other AGAINST it. Due to outrage at home that I would consider spending money on a smart, I was a 'secret reserver' and did not disclose the smart until the day it arrived. But, once I brought it home (alone), we both adopted it as our mechanical love-child, and all are doing well.

Loved this thread

I have not had such a big smile since finding this website! I am still waiting patiently (not really) for my smart and lurk several times per day to see what is going on. I had to laugh at the original story and the subsequent comments! My husband gets a kick out of my obsession with the smart and now this website. I do not think he would ever pick up my car without me, sick or not, as sweet (or not) as it would be. But then again, I would probably travel the 200 miles on my death bed to pick it up anyway. You never know .

Fred...your wife & I must have grown up together in different towns!! She must be a peach, for you to speak so highly of her. Good job!!
Hugs & pinches all around! LOL! (evil grin)

Bremer...glad you're forgiven. Maybe she will realize in time how thoughtful you were. Or maybe the both of you will just never speak of the issue again! :-)

I hadn't had new car in many years, and when the new 1985 Jetta GLI was going to be introduced I was the first to order one in our area - sight unseen. Got everything on it, even extra stuff that the dealer helped out with. We, (my first wife and I ) went to pick it up and we loved the car. She said, "I've never driven a new car home before, can I have the honor?" " Sure" said I, not knowing I'd never really have possession of that car again except to pay the note and maintain it. We divorced several years after that - she kept the car, and totaled it three months after I paid it off....Sorry, it's your nickel you'll be spending now.

My second wife is much better about these things, but she drives her new car home, and I drive my new car home. The Smart ? who knows, since it wil initially be the play car.

Every so often, something happens with the smarts and their owners to set off a totally amusing thread, bringing many smiles and stories from our members. Certainly helps pass the waiting time 'til he arrives in my life.

well.. I guess I am lucky
My wife likes the smart but she like better her car (MB320 CDI) so I have been pushing her to drive the smart for two weeks but she never finds the time to do it

I've got the opposite problem. I'm picking mine up tomorrow and I'm not sure my wife will let me keep it. She hates the thing and hasn't even seen it yet.

See my post, same problem. My new smart won over the biggest-possible critic, so I'll bet you'll do fine, too.
