Letter to PAG- please join in!

I have sent a letter to PAG today protesting the price gouging of my assigned dealer (a last minute $500 "fee") and also telling PAG that I know that with the power of setting allocations I KNOW they have the power to stop this gouging. I also told them I will be canceling my order at the time of delivery (I'm an 1189) unless these fees are gone.

I want to encourage all of you to have the guts to join me in this effort. If any of you think negotiating individually will get you any where with you dealer you are sadly mistaken.

I don't think a petition means much with out the threat to cancel!

That's what they need to hear.

a voice of thousands is much more powerful than a letter from one.

start an online petition and get the word out to the press. i've seen it work before.

So how about both?

Remember, not all dealers are doing this so there may not be as much traction here as we think. As more cars are delivered we'll know more about how widespread the problem really is. Not saying it isn't an issue, but additional time will provide more facts.

sign me up. PAG may be limited - for example in FL it a dealer charges one customer a fee - the dealer must charge ALL customers the fee, by law.

However - there is nothing that says the dealer can't extend the Warrantee by $500 to compensate.

It's just a car Carnut-remember it's just a car- keep repeating that to yourself and it'll be easier to find the guts.

Considering the circumstance that they have not let the reservation holders choose their delivery dealerships I think that mentioning filing complaints with consumer protection groups and/or bad PR might be more effective then the threat of canceling your order (which they will simply resell).

Strenth in numbers guys- time for a gut check- I'll be gone for a while- hope I started something here that grows. Much more power with the pocketbook in my opinion than complaints to agencies that will do nothing. As far as bad publicity goes i don't think it hurt MINI but who knows?
