KD5NCO here.... Any mobile radio install planned for your Smart?

I plan on installing a 2m/70cm rig and low profile Comet dual band antenna on mine.

As a matter of fact, I am trying to figure out how to install a d700A Kenwood... in my cabrio! I could use some cookie pans and mag mounts. Gotta get the car first! KE6VUP

I just love my plates! Unfortunately they are only virtual. However I can get SMART plus my initials in California.

[drift]Well, I plan on yanking out the double din factory good times radio and replacing it with a Kenwood good-times radio and a TM-261 or Icom 208H. Nice radio, that D-700A. I Would like to have the aprs features that it has.

I figured a Larson through glass antenna would be the best way to go. That, in my opinion is twice as good of antenna as all of the other through the glass antennas. It's got a real good base on it, but it also costs about twice as much. Frys here in Texas had them at one point. [/drift]

Okay, okay, just having a bit of fun and seeing if you are paying attention

Drumroll, please: 4 DEUX

Oh, in CA you can order plates and hang on to them for future use--you pay a retention fee rather than a renewal fee (same dollar amount) and I guess when you are ready to put it on a vehicle then you do the DMV thing with plates in hand for a status change. BTW, it takes 8-12 weeks to get the plates.

My 4 DEUX will be on the palm tree/sunset plate like the one shown above on spdickey's avatar.
