my three letter initials, like some people used to monogram their shirt sleeve, or shirt pocket.
a classy clean plate, with no numbers added. costs about $10 a year, vs. $60+ (?) a year for four or more letter, personalized plates.
years ago, a senior relative upon seeing the plate on my 'then' new car, said, "do you know the governor?"
nice, due to low extra cost, and unique rare hard-to-acquire branded ownership personalization, without bothering the paint.
worthwhile to check if ones initials are available every year, even though a long shot.
hard to get. once someone with your initials takes the plate, they tend keep it forever, like i have.
surprising how many people have the same initials.
netted mine after checking every few months for two years. phoned in one day, found the plate holder of my initials had yet to renew. immediately reserved them.
as initial or other plates get old/worn/damaged, allowed to replace (to match your new car) for about $8. two week delivery.
february 2008, planning to order new set, keep them on the present car until the smart arrives, then transfer to smart for about $7 more.
