A Look Underneath....

I finally got around to doing the first oil change on my smart and put her up on the lift so I could get a good look underneath. Very interesting the way the plastic belly pan covers the car all the way back to the motor area. Anyway, thought someone might be interested in seeing it.

As soon as I got done with that, I threw in a new HID kit, what a difference. This is a great car for some cheap fun.

It is also a cheap (inexpensive, for those sensitive types) car for some GREAT fun!

Nice pics. Thanks, I've never seen mine up in the air yet.

Wow, that is cool. You have your own lift in your garage? Might think about doing something like that when I have my 3 car built. I am guessing the lift is not like a 2 ton lift. And are they very expensive, since it is not one of those BIG ones I see in mechanic shops.

This is 9,000 pound job, so maybe similar to what you might see in a real shop. The previous owner was a restorer and collector of Studebakers, and really had a great setup. It's nice because I can lift anything that I have and makes service a breeze. I have seen used ones like this for only a couple grand. It makes a nice addition to a garage. I was just lucky this one was already in. It seems he was more interested in his cars than anything else....garage was equipped with a ridiculous alarm system....house had nothing.

That is a great idea, but I think my neighbors would shoot me if the kid was tearing around the property on his cart...don't have the wide open spaces of that guys pad.
I am glad I don't live in Florida too.

I swear I saw your place for sale in Hemmings at one time. Someday I'll get a lift in my garage. Not quite as fancy as yours - I can only fit maybe 7 or 8 normal sized cars in there (if it was cleaned out). Just a few days ago I was accused by the spousal unit that I care more about the cars than anything else. DUH! She knew what she was getting into.......

Glad you're enjoying the car.
