Oh, Cube - that's just a baby!

When I worked at P&W Aircraft in West Palm Beach (way out in the swamp) I would sometimes find four and five foot gators under my car in the parking lot! At that time they were protected so you couldn't just drive over 'em. So - back to the guard shack, get a broom and go back and shoo them away. . . They'd snap at the broom, too. They didn't like having their naps disturbed . . .
But those were considered small, too. We had one big three-legged fellow that would have gone nine feet easily, had you been brave enough to approach for a measurement.
We saw little ones like yours shortly after they hatched in the spring.

That's a new feature of the SMARTS system (Smart Mobile Alligator Real Time Security). If someone messes with your car, it chews their feet off.

Yep, I got a lagoon right behind the house and there is 6ft mom gator in there. She is got five or six babies, but it is the first time they are getting out on the driveway.

Cute little guy needs to learn to stay out of the street and hang out near the lagoon where it's safe

Up north we have to watch out for cats on the brake rotors in the winter. They apparently crawl up there when the rotors are warm and then die in their sleep. Makes for some really bad smells when you have ben driving for a bit.

Looks like that little guy is on his toes, moving out! Or is it just the picture making it look that way?

We've got gators around here but I've never had one in my yard before. I hope it found its way back to your lagoon and mama.
