Didn't the email from smartusa also say something about the '09 having the solid textured roof available as an option for no added cost for the passion coupe, rather than just the pure?

Also the plastic door pockets are being replaced by netting pockets. I think I prefer the existing configuration.

Agreed. All I've ever seen of netting is that it gets stretched and starts to sag over time. It justs looks cheap to me. I guess it is cheaper that molded pockets, less plastic material perhaps.

There is one more option for the 2009 model. You can order the passion coupe with solid roof listed under extras on the 2009 car configurator.

2009 - The spokes extend to the edge of the rim.



2008 - The spokes turn back in before reaching the rim.

the wheels you mentioned are just the upgrade rims that are available now. They are the same ones on my '08 car. If you ordered last year and your car comes in January of this year you do, indeed, get the 09 model at the 08 price. I called SMART and asked when my configuration said January at one time. ( I bought an orphan but am still getting the other car...it actually is arriving Sept 6)

or maybe I just got lucky. They put mine on in San Antonio 2 days ago. They had to be ordered...maybe they just came in shiny and different.
