Very sorry about your Dad. Be strong!
Car will be fine. Did 1000 miles in two days a month ago for a funeral of a friend. Absolutely no problem with the car. Maybe a bit of foot or leg cramping due to lack of cruise control but all else fine.

Went to Atl and back to Jacksonville in one day, Business meeting, did not want to stay in 150 buck a night roach hotels so drove back. thats about 10 hours to 11 hours of driving. I got back more in love with the smarty than ever. my wife even said it was really a nice ride. Oh yeah one tank full to get there and one to come back! cant beat that!!!! I cant say go, enjoy the drive due to your circumstances but it will be a good drive.

Just get in the car and go. Your little smart will look after you so long as you look after her (gas, windshield fluid etc.). Make sure you take breaks as you need them and go home to your dad. Oh, and have a poutine for me! There is just no way to make one half as good here...
