Ah, I long for the days when I could not find the keys to the car my parents let us use.....

I had a key, my four sisters had a key, my mom and dad had a key and there was a key in the keybox.

8 keys probably cost 8 bucks....

Somebody had a key.

Plain ol' flat metal keys. And that car was never stolen....

Ah, the good ol' days....

Just curious, but is there a way to disable the chip portion of the key? Seems to me, if you could do that, then you would just be shopping for a key. The car already has an alarm and door locks. I dunno, just thinking out loud.

If it is possible, don't tell anyone.

Not all smarts have alarms and that chip is your theft deterrent the insurance companies are looking for.

I feel sorry for the folks who paid to have loJak installed early on. It just was not necessary. You are already paying for the security with the key. The alarm is to prevent tampering and personal theft
