Loudness Setting

Hi all,
I have the (I think) radio 10 with the 6-disc changer, and for some reason, I can't turn my loudness off. Everytime I try to do that, it would go back to on after I leave the loudness screen. Is is not as simple as rotating the volume nob to turn off the loudness or is it more complicated then that?

I just turn the dial However, I noticed that you can't go over a certain volume level, it give you a notice on the radio screen.

happened to me at first too...until I realized you have to push the central volume button for the change to stick.
