Love the car - hate the KEY!

I love this car! My only complaint is that the key is too big and bulky.

It's a "Valeo" key, does any one know if they have smaller, compatable keys? Maybe just a key without the remote or, a remote without the panic and "top down" buttons?

I'm [slowly] working on it ...
the problem is it's a side-cut key. It requires specialized equipment. There's only one place in San Diego that can do it, but they have to get the right blank. I called the 1-800-ImUseless number and they said I should go back to the dealer (who told me to call the 800#) and that I may have to get it through the Mercedes side of the house. Mini has the same issue - it goes through BMW and you have to go through the dealer. Oh - and in the Mini's case, the valet key is plastic.

Ok here is a pic of a regular house key, a key to a Prius, and in the center the mondo gargantuan smart key.

During a review by a British dude he said the key looked like a Galaxy Minstrel. I thought what is that. After some Google searching I discovered that it is a British Candy. It really does look like one too.

Well, the little bugger's parts aren't all tiny, now are they ;) I say embrace the quirkiness**and get a holster for that thing.
