Lug It or Leave It!

1050 miles, first impressions.

Auto mode in drive sucks. Shifts early with long spaces between gears. lugs in 5th.

Paddles are only for driving in a straight line.

The stick shift is a pure delight to behold.

A remap may fix the D. trans. The paddles are a lost cause except for drag racing.

Overall a fun car and a good buy for the price,

A2Jack

You're right about the auto mode upshifts are too early. I expect a tunner somewhere will have an ECU program to fix that.

I do however, find the paddle shift to be excellent when down shifting especially when entering a tight cornor setting up a brisk (as brisk as 71 hp can be) exit.

Give yourself time, we've had several cars with wheel mounted paddles and have no problem using them while turning - you simply have to get used to it (and stop the habit of shuffling your hands around; drive like an F1 racer and keep your hand in place unless in extreme turns where you wouldn't want to be shifting and transferring weight anyway).
