Too bad these are such expensive tires. with no spare, I would consider them at a lower cost...
You're kidding, right?

"TireRack.com" has the OEM fronts for $65 and the rears for only $88. Now if you have a Brabus......THAT'S another story.

I wanted to find runflats given my history in roadsters without spares. The ability to take car of a punctured tire without hysteria is worth the significant addition cost compared to "normal" tires without the self supporting structure. Unfortunately, runflats aren't available in smart sizes; they may be restricted generally to low profile tires. Perhaps they're available for 17" rims.

It may be that ssppxyz would consider runflats if they weren't so expensive. I'd consider runflats even though they are. Maybe I'll revisit alternative wheel sizes to see if there are runflats available for those.

I keep trying to use the line, "But remember, we're driving a Smart" to cut down on what is acquired on various shopping trips. The response is always, "So what" and somehow I always manage to fit everything into the car. I believe I posted the flower load - I was thankful for the coat hooks in the back, I used them for one hanging basket each (eat your heart our VW Bug owners - all you got was one little bud vase).
