Maybe New DDE Info

so i only reserved my smart a little over a month ago but didnt have a dde as of last week. i called and talked with smart for awhile and it seems the dealership (creve couer - saint louis) is extremely backed up and they cant provide a dde at this time. the lady said that most likely i will get an estimation when it is within an 18 month time frame. yes, this means that as of right now i am over 18 months from delivery (19 months total now). smart car, see you in 2010.

I reserved 20 May 07.
Configured 1 Mar 08.
DDe didn't come online until after that.
My Estimated Delivery is Nov 08 - Jan 09.
Adopted an orphan in April.

Yes, stlsmartguy, there are a number of us out here that don't yet have DDE information beyond a 'Can't be estimated at this time' message (I reserved in mid February). However this is the first time I've heard of it being linked directly to a dealership. Others, myself included, have been told that it is because our zip codes have yet to be assigned to an individual dealership by smart. I reserved at a smart center but seem to live in a grey area not yet given to the smart center of Indianapolis, or any other smart center for that matter. Let me know what else you find out.

I am new here. I'm looking for any information about my reservation. I've seen many mentions of DDE on this site, but I don't know how one gets that information. I placed my reservation on 29May08. My reservation number is 3293211610 .... I don't know where the 4-digit #'s are coming from unless they are the last 4-digits. Any help would be appreciated.

It's on the Smart home page, bottom left. You just enter your e-mail address.

Now, what I *don't* know is how some people know the day their car will be here... if that's some info you get from Smart as it gets closer, or if they're using the "track your Smart on it's cargo ship" thingy. But I keep seeing people say, "Mine is 11 days away," or "Mine said 9/14 but now got pushed to 9/21".

Indeed, the last 4 digits* are your "reservation number". As for the DDE, it's the "Date Delivery Estimator" located at the left of the opening page of smartusa.com. You have to enter the e-mail sender's address you used for your reservation to get any result. Good luck on that!
