MDC Cruise Not Working

Installed it today and it doesn't function. I get a constant blinking green light and the engine light comes on and stays on.

PP14 of the instruction says " After starting the engine the LED flashes until the first push of the brake. The stop light switch is scanned for function. If the stop light switch has an error, the LED flashes continuously and the CC is disabled."

Apparently this is my problem, but there is nothing in the instructions to suggest how to fix this issue.

Everything seems to work as it did before; lights, normal shifting, etc. Have checked the wiring connections; they are plugged in and seems ok. Switch in the control module box is ON. I'm stumped.

Smartmadness is not open today so will try to call them tomorrow.

Meanwhile, if any of you have any suggestions, please let me know by email as I'll get it quicker: clem@ptmc.net

Hi,
Try the top of page 16. It looks like you didn't disconnect the battery before you started or the connector was still touching. Hope this helps. Dave - Wisconsin

Davriech: I did disconnect the batt........but upon re-reading the instructions it said "NEGATIVE lead" ....not the hot wire which I took off! Will just have to un-install the dang thing; man, thats a lot of work to undo! Will start all over in the morn.

Thanks, you've pointed me to the probable cause.

Would unplugging from foot pedal and wiper arm be sufficient to clear the unit?

Which lead you undid should make no difference whatsoever. It's probably something else.
